PGA of Australia

Few sporting organisations can boast a proud 100-year heritage like the PGA of Australia. Our Association traces its origin back to 1911 when a group of expatriate Scottish golf Professionals formed a national Association to promote the game of golf and elevate the vocation of the golf Professional within Australia. The PGA is the second oldest Professional Golfers Association in the world and proudly forms part of the PGA World Alliance, of which it is a founding partner.

The PGA is a not for profit Member-based organisation representing Professional golfers, Tournament Professionals, Club Professionals, Assistant Professionals, Teaching Professionals, Senior Professionals and Trainees who work in golf facilities throughout Australia and overseas. Our Members play an integral role in servicing the 1.2 million Australians who hit the fairways each year.

As the official sanctioning body for all elite male professional tournament golf in Australasia, the PGA has a successful history in producing numerous Major winners and world ranked players, including Kel Nagle, Peter Thomson, Jack Newton, Greg Norman, Robert Allenby, Stuart Appleby, Geoff Ogilvy and Adam Scott.

The PGA mission and vision is to promote and grow the game of golf at all levels and provide our current and future Members with the opportunity to maximise their career potential. At the same time, we aim to be one of Asia-Pacific's leading sports brands, recognised as an industry leader who delivers the highest standards.
